直接引语是原话，间接引语是转述。
直接引语：
He said, "I am tired."
他说：“我累了。”间接引语：
He said that he was tired.
他说他累了。19.1 人称变化
直接引语转间接引语时，人称要按转述者视角调整。
Mary said, "I like music."
Mary said that she liked music.19.2 时态变化
如果主句谓语是过去时，从句时态常往过去方向退一格。

根据语境可能变化：
now -> then
today -> that day
yesterday -> the day before
tomorrow -> the next day
here -> there
this -> that例句：
She said, "I saw him yesterday."
She said that she had seen him the day before.19.4 疑问句转述
一般疑问句用 if/whether 引导，并改为陈述语序。
He asked, "Do you like English?"
He asked if I liked English.特殊疑问句保留疑问词，也改为陈述语序。
She asked, "Where do you live?"
She asked where I lived.
